Diosmin is a vascular protective agent, which is usually used to treat various symptoms related to venous and lymphatic insufficiency, such as heaviness, pain, soreness and discomfort in the morning, and various symptoms of acute hemorrhoid attacks, such as anal wetness, itching, blood in the stool, pain and other acute symptoms of internal and external hemorrhoids.
The main ingredients of diosmin are micronized and purified flavonoid compounds, including 450 mg of diosmin and 50 mg of flavonoid components expressed in the form of hesperidin. The molecular formula of diosmin in the chemical structure is C28H32O15. and the molecular weight is 608.6.
The pharmacological effects of diosmin include reducing venous distensibility and venous blood stasis, and normalizing the permeability of capillary walls and enhancing their resistance in the microcirculatory system. In human trials, the half-life of diosmin is about 11 hours, and it is mainly excreted through feces, with an average of 14% excreted in the urine.
The storage conditions of diosmin tablets should be sealed and stored in a dry area below 30°C. The validity period is usually 48 months.
